William C. Grubbs, 66, 1501 Fremont, a farmer many years in the Elmdale community north west of here died Friday morning at Culver Hospital where he had been a patient 12 days. Death was hastened by a stroke of apoplexy, which he suffered May 16. Born August 19, 1887, southwest of Crawfordsville Mr. Grubbs was the son of John W. and Elizabeth Lewellen Grubbs. He was a member of the Elmdale Methodist Church and had engaged in farming in the Elmdale community until he moved to Crawfordsville. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Walter Blackford of Waynetown; two nieces, Mrs. Raymond Shute of Waynetown and Mrs. Thomas James of Pittsburgh, PA; three aunts, Mrs. Harve Lewellen and Mrs. Fannie Lewellen both of this city and Mrs. Robert Titus of Waynetown and several cousins. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at Proffitt & Sons Funeral home with burial at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. The Rev. Guy Tremaine will be officiating minister.
